In May 2011, I set up a new domain for a non-profit organizationI have been a Godaddy customer for years and have had problems with their billing practices before, but have always been able to resolve themThis time is differentOn 5/16/and 5/17/ Godaddy charged a total of $as an "automatic renewal" to my credit cardI do not recall authorizing an automatic renewal on this accountI approached the non-profit organization to reimburse me for this amount, and was told that they did not have the funds to do soThis process took several months due to the fact that the non-profit organization is currently in-activeSince they were not able to reimburse me, I decided to close out the website accountI contacted customer service and asked if they could pro-rate the charges and issue me a credit, since only months of the year period has elapsedMy request was refused stating that they have a day return policyIt doesn't apply since I didn't order the service
The company charge my credit card without authorization using implicit auto-renew featureThe charge was for service called "domain club" When I complaint and asked for refund the Godaddy Inc resorted to unethical tactics threatening that if I cancel the "domain club" they will permanently cancel one of my domains which was renewed using the domain club even though I offered to pay a regular price for the domain in question and even though the domain was well within a grace period
In the process of having one issue with GoDaddy, I then encountered a secondI received a notice that a certain domain was going to expire, one I have had since I made numerous attempts to login to my account and renew, but was repeatedly unable to get the private registration out of my cartDuring each of these attempts, which I'm sure you can see in my login history, I attempted to "chat" GoDaddy and was unsuccessfulChat was unavailableI made two attempts, on separate dates to call GoDaddy and the wait time was over minutesToday I called again because my domain showed as available by auction for $I was still forced to pay an $recovery fee to ensure that no one came in and purchased the domainThere were no bids on the domainThere are also ZERO Google results for the wording in the domain that do not trace back to me, so a pretty good chance that no one would bid, but no ability to know for sureI told *** at GoDaddy that this felt very much like a scam b

I called me client and told them and they said they got emails from GoDaddy offering them the domain weeks prior for $(years fee) and that he would call and see what GoDaddy had to say
He called them and they sold him the exact domain that was just won by "someone" who outbid meSo it was ALL LIES! My credit card was charged in auto-renewal I had forgotten about the account I had signed up for years prior I am a stay at home mom who cannot afford this so I cancelled the very next day They claim of you cancel within days you will get a refund I waited a few days for the refund to show (I canceled over a holiday weekend) When I did not see a refund, I called to inquire if they needed my credit card Apparently I should have called to cancel and I was now outside the days I was not informed this when I cancelled, and only received an email to verify the cancellation
Godaddy defaulted to automatically renew my annual hosting package and charged me $when I didn't consentI found out they illegally charged meI've tried calling numerous times during the day window but was never able to get through to a human representative
When trying to reach them through online chat, they conveniently do not have a category for billing

I was finally able to connect to a human on the 32nd dayGodaddy and the billing department (Keith, Elliot and Andrew) refused to refund the illegally renewed purchase and stated they were restricted by Godaddy policy becasue they only issue annual refunds on year hosting packages after days
Nevertheless, I stand that Godaddy is unethical and commits illegal business transactions for the charges of year services without consent and refusal for partial refund which is hidden and obstructed through their poor user interface, hidden and deceptive language and unavailability through phone calls and online chat support
I received a charge for service I did not want to continue I have had numerous good experience and websites with this coover the years
