Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by thingCHARGER Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

Revdex.com:Hello.  I'm replying to the complaint, complaint number above, regarding shipment and refund. I've just heard from the company. At this time, I feel the matter has been resolved. I just wasn't getting any response before, so I had concerns. I appreciate...

your help and your time, and I hope I haven't caused any inconvenience. Thank you so much.    [redacted].

Our records show that the individual first contacted us on
the [redacted] of December. We explained that thingCHARGER is a
crowdfunding campaign and what our shipping schedule looked like. The
individual  accepted a FREE upgrade as a
thank you for waiting until we get this shipped out. We are...

mystified as to why this complaint was filed. thingCHARGER
is still a crowdfunding campaign and we are proud to say we began shipping our
beautiful product in September and continue to ship as quickly as we can.We are trying to ship in the order that we received your
contribution so that we can honor our early supporters :)   We will keep right on shipping until we get
every single contributor fulfilled.

I placed (or thought I placed) on order with thingCharger Inc on December *, 2015. When I didn't receive the products ordered by December **, 2015, I emailed the company using the company website contact page. I received an email back on December **, 2015, telling me that I had paid for Crowd...

Founding and that products would not be shipped until developed and produced. The email contained a link to a Wikipedia page listing the definition of [redacted]. Nowhere on the company website was it apparent that no products were sold and that the money charged was for [redacted] only. Nor did the email from the company list when they expected the products to be delivered. Until today, [redacted], when I read the email from thingCharger Inc, I had never heard of [redacted] and had no intention of participating in such an enterprise.

When this individual contacted us, we our explained crowdfunding status and expected shipping timeline. They were unhappy with this and requested a refund. We attempted to resolve the situation by meeting their earlier expectations, however they never replied to us. We are very sorry that we did not...

initiate a refund at that time.We have since altered our policies so that we have safe-guards in place to prevent this from happening again. At this time, we would be happy to work with this individual to provide them with a refund. However, once a dispute is opened, banking institutions put a freeze on that account and will not allow us to return funds to it until the dispute is resolved. We have reached out to this individual directly to determine whether their dispute is still active, and issue them a refund if we can.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Idid not receive a response when I emailed them - only after I filed with the Revdex.com did they respond.  Also their crowdfunding, started in 2013 has raised over $1 milliion, yet this company chose to distribute their product to [redacted] and [redacted] on TV stores, rather than distribute the product to their "contributers".  The phone number at the bottom of the e-mail from the "distributor" went to an automated answering machine for "Change Your Mind Right Now"  not for Thingcharger.  Although they sent an order to [redacted] on December **, finally shipping from LA (not Las Vegas as most of their replies state), the product is still not on my doorstop - therefore I am keeping the complaint open.
Sincerely,

I still firmly believe that thingcharger's marketing, and website in particular, appears to be purposefully structured to hide or bury that it is a crowdfunded campaign and not a regular purchase.  They have not address specifically their advertising or their invoicing which does not reference crowdfunding or a delayed shipment in any way.  They have not made any attempt to modify their website or marketing to address my concerns or the concerns of others that references to crowdfunding or a delay is shipment.  They have not explained why they are not following standard best practices required by kickstarter and other crowdfunding hosts.  I am obviously not alone in my belief -- try doing a quick internet search on thingcharger and complaint or scam.

This company advertised their charging device on Facebook and seemed legitimate. I ordered one in December-- never received it even though they charged $47 to my credit card. They are just now emailing to thank me for my "donation" to help start up their company!! That is not what their website said at all! And now in order to get my "gift" (the charger) from them they are asking me to put an additional $2 on my credit card and they will ship it! These people are scamming buyers and don't deliver on what they promised

We are mystified by this complaint. On the [redacted] of December we received an email from this individual. Within a few hours we sent a response with an explanation about what was happening and a link to confirm their package and address details to get this on the way to them.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. My funds have been deposited back to my Bank Account. I have only one issue with their reply......ThingCharger said I didn't try to contact them regarding the matter before I contacted the Revdex.com. I tried for two days to get someone from their Customer Service  to ANSWER THE PHONE. I left at least three voice mails. I also contacted Thing Charger through the email address listed on there webpage and received an auto no reply email back, asking me to click the link that took me to a new video asking me to upgrade and pay more for something I had already purchased. Very poor marketing, and customer service.
Sincerely,

I have heard from Thing Charger, Inc. that my chargers have been shipped and that will resolve the matter.

We are sorry that this individual wasn't aware of our crowdfunding status. Within our [redacted] videos we mention our campaign and ask for support and ask for contributions repeatedly. We try to make our crowdfunding status clear and it is both listed and referenced in a variety of places in our...

videos and on our website, but we are very sorry that, in this case, that was missed. With crowdfunding, many people contribute a small amount of money to a great idea. The inventors take that money and turn it into a fantastic product, which we can then ship to the amazing people who supported us.  Because crowdfunding uses the funds collected from our contributors to create, manufacture, and ship our products to our supporters, there is often a delay between the receipt of funds and the shipment of packages. This individual reached out to us on January [redacted] and we responded the same day. Because they were concerned about the delay, we attempted to meet their expectations. We are very sorry that they were not interested in the upgrades and additional tips that we like to make available to our contributors. All we truly ask at this step is that our supporters confirm their shipping information, this individual did not contact us with their frustration with this process, so we were unable to assist them with this step. On January [redacted], at their request, we have refunded their contribution and emailed them to let them know that we were doing so. We encourage them to reach out to us with any further questions.

When the individual first contacted us with his original questions we responded to him within 30 minutes and continued to work with him to resolve the issue. We always feel bad when people end up in our campaign without realizing our crowdfunding status, and we always work with them to provide...

the best possible outcome. In this case the individual wanted a refund and we processed one right away.At the time of the advertisement he mentioned, thingCHARGER was still in the crowdfunding phase. Our website, the video, and our FAQ’s all explained this. We have information about this on the website in the form of the promotional video that auto plays at the top of the webpage and in the FAQ's as well as in our terms and conditions. We also explain this during the payment process with a statement that says: Contribute now to our pre-launch campaign and receive thingCHARGER(s) as an awesome thank-you perk from us when we ship.

They did return my money, however, their explanation is unacceptable.  If they were crowd funding why did they have an order form and charge me delivery?  If it is crowd funding why charge delivery.  It is bogus   [redacted]

We are so grateful that this individual contacted us directly at the same time that they reached out to the Revdex.com.

font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">While we are disappointed that this individual is no longer interested in receiving their thingCHARGER, we are happy that we were able to process their refund.

We are very sorry for the frustration that this individual experienced regarding the delay in receiving their thingCHARGER. It seems that they may not have been aware when they selected their perk package that thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign.

With crowdfunding, an inventor takes a good idea to the internet. There, many people contribute a small amount of money towards making that idea into a reality. The inventor then takes that money and uses it to create, manufacture, and ship the product. When the product is ready, it is shipped out to all the people who supported its creation, as a thank-you gift.

Because of that process, there is usually a lag between when contributions are received and when perk packages are shipped. This can feel frustrating, but it is a normal part of crowdfunding.

We hope that providing them with a refund has resolved this unfortunate misunderstanding.
