check should be to the complainant by Monday or Tuesday of next week, I would think. Once the item is mailed  Unique has no control over when it is delivered. If the check does not arrive within 10 business days, the complainant can contact Unique and we will stop payment and re-issue a new check.Thank you,

I am with Unique insurance in Illinois. I over paid my policy by 126.00. A lady hit me Dec 1, 2015 and my policy was up for renewal Nov 30 in which I paid and they say I was one day without insurance one day and the next day the lady said I was covered. The red flag is clear and they mailed out a check for 68 dollars which is incorrect for 42 a month over payment from seot to Nov . I cannot let this go and in the process of fighting it. The adjuster never called back. I called her everyday until I spoke to her and she did not let me speak to a supervisor. I am not happy with what is going on and I did file with IDOE to get to the bottom of the problem.

Per our notes, the complainant did indeed speak with one of our claims adjusters yesterday, December 1, 2016. He explained to her that we received the photos from their shop but we have not received an estimate from them. She said...

she would speak to the shop and have them send it to us.At this time, we are waiting on the shops estimate. The complainant was also contacted on 11/23/16, when a status letter was sent to the claimant's address.

This is by far the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. My vehicle was damaged by a Unique Insurance policy holder in January 2016. The next day I contacted Unique and filed a claim. After several weeks of not hearing from them, I decided to contact them to check on the status of the claim. I was told I would need to have three body shops email estimates and pictures to them before they would process my claim. I had the body shops send Unique (cc'ing me on the emails) the requested information. After two weeks of waiting I contacted Unique again and was provided the claim agent name (Katrina). I contacted Katrina and was told she hadn't received any estimates or pictures. I insisted the estimates had been sent and too please check. I was placed on hold and soon after she returned stating she had received the estimates and pictures. However she mentioned there was a problem getting in contact with their policy holder. She informed me she wouldn't start working the claim until she had obtain a written statement from the policy holder. She then asked me did I have his contact information because what she had wasn't correct and asked could I give it to her. Why wouldn't a insurance company have the contact information for customer? Don't they bill the person? I informed Katrina I had the information but didn't have it available at the time. After hearing this she decided to get loud, rude and unprofessional stating "you don't have to give it to me but you won't get your car fixed until you do." Why would I attempt to protect person that damaged my vehicle? It has now been over two months, I've contacted Unique Insurance several times and left messages with Katrina and her manager (Shabi) several times. As of today my car is still damaged and I haven't heard from neither of them. The website is so horrible it's impossible to track anyone down and escalate. Thank God I have insurance with reputable a company that will fix my vehicle.

While we can understand the frustration by the complainant, this accident involved multiple vehicles and sometimes the process will take longer when more people are involved. Vehicles needed to be appraised, supplement estimates...

reviewed, one claimant will only work "on her time line" and then we must await responses from claimant carriers as well. The complainant spoke with one of our adjusters on Friday, 08/12, he explained to her that we need information from one such carrier and she was upset but said she understood. We are working toward getting this claim resolved and hope to do so fairly soon.Thank you,

I am not a customer of this horrible company thank goodness. But I am however having to go through them for a insurance claim from one of their customers hitting me. I have been trying to get in contact with these people for nearly a month now. I have spoke with Boman [redacted] twice, never provides me with anything useful always says give me one more day. This is by far the worst company to deal with! I don't know how they are still in business. They have NEVER called me back as promised numerous of times! This company needs to be shut down immediately!

Per the notes on this file, Unique attempted to contact this complainant several times back in February and left a message saying that a comp loss letter and questionnaire were mailed to the complainant and asked him to return a...

call to our main number to schedule an appraisal review. In fact, the adjuster says he attempted to call four times in one day. By May 17th, Unique had not received any of the requested information, no photos or estimate of the vehicle, and no return information from the complainant. The adjuster made note that she called the complainant and left a voicemail message saying that since there was no activity on the claim in over 60 days, the file would be closed. This is a normal protocol if there is no activity on the claim.Unique offers a variety of avenues to reach us including an online Contact Us page which is especially helpful when folks are having issues reaching a claims person. We receive e-mails through this channel all the time and are sure to send this info to the specific team handling the claim for a speedy response. We try to make certain each claim is handled in a timely manner but can only do so if we receive the proper information. The insurance brokers can also reach us through their specific marketing representative but in review of e-mails, I do not see any such request coming from a marketing representative.
Moving forward, I will be sure to get this information over to Team A so they can re-open the claim and move it to resolution. I thank the complainant for the police report number so that we can prove liability, we will have an adjuster e-mail the proper documentation over to him so that he can complete the necessary paperwork and return it to us quickly.

We are very sorry to the complainant for her issue with lack of communication. I see from the claim notes that this claim is denied based upon the company policy; physical damage does not carry over form the policy only liability.

This is without a doubt the worst insurance company ever. I filed a claim had a question about it called consistently for 3 weeks even left messages with managers for no one to ever return a call. I had to take off work and physically go in to talk to someone who swore that if I contacted them directly they would get back to me. After getting my estimate I brought it to a place closer to my home and they said they would not start work on the car because this estimate by the company was entirely too low. Again I called for a week, after I have rented a car and no one including managers returned my call and in the meantime I'm renting a car and had to call my broker to contact the company. One of their administrator s called me back regarding the whole week that I paid for a rental car because no one from the company returns calls at all and he basically said that's just too bad that's the way we work.

My vehicle was legally parked when another guy side swiped the drivers side of my vehicle in 10/2014 who was insured by Unique Ins. The driver that hit my vehicle was arrested for Aggravated DUI and given multiple tickets which he pleaded guilty to and received jail time. Here it is 6/2016 and Unique Ins. still refuses to pay my insurance company for the damage. My insurance company is currently suing them. Thank God I have a good insurance company and not a substandard insurance company.

After further review, this claim remains denied.
The policy cancelled on 06/11/2016 at 12:01 AM and the accident occurred at 11:34 AM. The policy did not reinstate with a lapse until 06/16/16.
Whether or not this person is an illegal immigrant or whether they are driving on an international license truly has no bearing on this claim. Everyone who drives a vehicle is required to carry insurance and non-standard companies like Unique Insurance will insure drivers such as this person. I can assure the Revdex.com and the complainant that we do pay claims when the policy is in effect and the payment is warranted.
