My wife and I bought a 70" Vizio in November of 2012 and in January of 2016 the TV last picture but still had sound. Come to find out from Vizio's website that this particular TV (E701i-A3) had a problem with losing picture and to date it looks like around 200k of them had this issue. Vizio knowing that they sold this product that has an issue, which is listed very clearly on thier website notes on this same site that all you have to do is call their customer service team. As they website said, I called and was told that since it had been over two years that there was no warranty on this tv, yet my serial number is one listed on their site as a TV that could potentially have this problem. I wouldn't think that if a company knowingly has an issue with their product that it should matter the length of time before that specific problem they announced would occur. Vizio's response to my wife and I was that the TV couldn't be fixed and they wouldn't replace it. So basically if you ever have a recall type issue with Vizio, you should know that you will not be taken care of and that they don't stand behind their own products. We had this $1200 for less than 4 years and now it is just a 100lb paper weight that I can't do any thing with.

I don't see an offer by VIZIO to accept or reject.  VIZIO is lying.  "The complainant has avoided contact with Vizio management repeatedly, and refuses to confirm information with us"  That is not true.  I have called them at least 10 times as outlined in my complaint.  I also have phone records to reflect this too if VIZIO wants them.   At any rate, Microcenter, where I purchased the TV, provided me with a full refund.  Considering VIZIO's refusal to respond to me and their outright lying in this complaint, I will not be buying VIZIO products again.  I am also going to send this issue to The Consumerist for their blog.

This TV was only One year outside of Warranty. Customers beware, search Vizio Brand on the web and you will find many issues and zero accountability from Vizio.

On February 24, I received a call from [redacted] with Vizio's corporate escalations group. Rather than apologize for the way Vizio handled my issue, [redacted] attempted to neogtiate with me about purchasing another television from Vizio. I told him I was a longtime Vizio customer with multiple other Vizio televisions in my house. Rather than thank me for my patronage, he said he would "take me at my word" for that. He attempted to shift blame to me for the damaged television and told me that it would be too cumbersome for Vizio to instruct their customers that they only have a certain amount of days to open a package and to make a claim on damaged products. I told him this would likely take about 10 seconds to do. [redacted] still could not tell me how long the customer has to report damage to products they receive from Vizio. [redacted] ultimately offered me a telelvision for $140; I paid $208 for the original television. I told him I could go to Costco and get a brand new 32" TV from a different manufacturer for not much more than $140, so why would I give more money to Vizio when they have so inadqueately and unprofessionally handled my problem. Rather than attempt to make the situation right, [redacted] treated me like another problem he had to get off his desk. Vizio continues to handle this situation improperly and clearly does not value their longtime customers. If this issue is not resolved to my satistfaction, I will never give the company another penny. And I will not stop litigating this matter until it is resolved properly.

I just want to alert anyone who is thinking about buying a TV to please avoid buying Vizio. It's a waste. The customer service representatives are useless and doesn't give a darn thing about the customers. The executive manager "[redacted]" as he call himself is unprofessional and nasty. I have brought a Sony TV at about the same time I brought the Vizio. I never have any issue with my Sony, but that piece of garbage I brought started given me issue in less than a year. They replaced it with a refurbished TV which now is given me the same exact problem in less than 4 months. The thing they called [redacted] told me that it is my problem what I do with the TV after I asked him " what does he expect me to do with the defective TV that they had sent me?" I regret the very first day I brought that piece of trash. The TV is a clear image of [redacted] who represents Vizio. SAVE YOURSELF SOME HEADACHES, DO NOT BUY ANY VIZIO PRODUCTS. I hope [redacted] rots in hell.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The warranty language that Vizio forwarded does not state that a product purchased in one of the fifty states and transferred as part of personal belongings to Guam, a US territory, is not covered by warranty.  Please ask Vizio to point out that language which would, in any case, be a violation of federal law.  Federal laws operate in Guam unless specifically excluded. I also asked to speak to an executive of the company, who presumably formulated warranty language and was impolitely refused. Regards[redacted]

I purchased it FROM Walmart, they NEVER said it was used or anything. I then registered it, and now you are saying that I am not able to get it fixed, because Walmart sold me a used TV? As a customer, I had no idea.  I CLEARLY have the TV in my possession, and I have the serial number. The TV was working fine for months until this started happening. This is the 2nd TV I have purchased from you guys, and honestly will be my last. I have never dealt with such a money hungry company before. You are not willing to help me, because of something that was done without my knowledge? That doesn't make sense at all. IF you cared about your customers, you would be seeking a fix for this issue.
