ZBiddy.com Online Auction Reviews (371)

Review: I received an email from a company that claimed to be an online auction company. I checked out the website and in order to bid you must register, so I did. Without any warning I had a $99 charge to my bank account. I checked out how the "bidding" worked to see if the product carried any value. I "bid" on an iPad and then watched the "bidding" for an hour. No one won the bid. It would just count down randomly from 8 - 15 seconds. I then proceeded to call the company. However, the only way to find a phone number to call them was by my bank statement (it is not listed on the website anywhere). I waited an hour before giving up. I then tried their chat system. I again waited an hour with no help. I sent an email and a written letter to their contact info. No response.I then called my bank and had them put a hold on the transaction. My bank now claims the transaction is legit and is taking the refunded credit away from my account. Today I went to see zbiddy.com and logged in to see if any of the auctions had changed. The exact same six items are still for auction with the same 3 bids I saw last time still counting down those 8-15 seconds. This is a scam. The idea here is that with enough people "bidding" and no cut off time the items never sell and the company continues to rack up money. Just to make this complaint I had to go to my bank statement for the phone number. There is no physical person to talk with in their contact info. Additionally, upon in-depth reading of their terms and conditions no where is there a place that states a registration to the website will have an attached cost for that registration.Desired Settlement: I want the $99 back in my bank account. I want all information gained by my "transaction" deleted from their system. I want a written letter from the company stating that these two conditions have been met.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would, however, have it noted that in response to Zbiddy's claim: "[redacted] user experience was consistent with Zbiddy's terms of use for which [redacted] was fully apprised and affirmed at the time of purchase". I was not apprised nor affirmed of the price for registration therefore I made no "purchase". I read the terms and conditions completely, twice. No where does it state there is a fee for registration. While I am happy with refund of money I will not be called out for my complaint as unfounded.

Review: While attempting to bid on an item for my daughter on www.zbiddy.com, I was prompted to register (for free). After making two bids, I noticed, from a message sent to my email address, that I had been charged $99 on my credit card. After contacting customer support and spending nearly an hour on the 'chat line', I was told that the matter was being referred to their billing department. I then asked for a phone # to contact them directly and was given 1-877-924-3390. Dialing that number, I received the automated response: 'Your account is locked'. Still with the customer support, I asked for an additional number only to be told that is their only number and they were experiencing 'technical difficulties'. Called the number again today and found out that it is for a credit counseling company--not zbiddy! I've been informed by my bank that it is up to zbiddy to contact me. Not sure that will happen, so am opening this complaint, in hopes of it being resolved with no charge to my account.Desired Settlement: I want the $99 credited to my account.

Review: Requesting cancellation of purchased bids on the same day of purchase to my credit card. I have not recieved a response from the company.

On 11/02/2013 I viewed the web site for hotcloseouts2013.com and I had to enter information about myself to view the site. I was charged $99.00 to my credit card, order [redacted] for 200 bids. Upon realizing my error, I immediately went to customer service in hopes of being able to communicate with someone online, but was unable to do so. I then requested to cancel my order in their email box that was provided by customer support. I then looked up their phone number on google site 877-924-3390, but was unable to get my call answered. Please help me. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I only want a refund to my credit card for the amount $99.00 charged to my credit card.

Review: My granddaughter who is 10 signed up with my information (prefilled on my computer) and I tried to tell them she was not 18 and they did not reply at all and they don't care to but you have to be 18 and it was not authorized.Desired Settlement: I would like it cancelled and because they would not cancel and took my money anyway after I said that she was not 18 they caused my account to overdraw and I would like that money back along with my original investment which $36 for the over draw and $99 for the charge which is a total of $135. I will be satisfied with this. Thank you

Review: On September 13, 2013 I thought I was registering for free on Zbiddy's site. After submitting my credit card info for future purchases my card was immediately charged $99. I online chatted with them that same day and they issued me a credit for $49.50 and allowed me to keep all the initial bids. I was happy with that and went on to bid on and win four auctions that day with an email stating I would receive items within 7-10 business days. On the 11th business day (September 30,2013) I talked to customer service through online chat and requested a refund for all items purchased and the other $49.50 for the bids purchased since I had not received any of the items. While they assured me I would receive my items if I just waited longer I insisted on a refund and was issued a credit for $14.15, the purchase price for the auctions won. During that same conversation they said I would be getting a $100 gas voucher within 48 hours to cover the $49.50, as it was non refundable. After 48 hours and not receiving the voucher I online chatted with them again and they had no record of me being promised the voucher and it was re-issued, to be sent to me within 24 hours. Now 24 hours later I still do not have it. I have no faith in this site and would prefer a refund of $49.50 but will accept the gas voucher, as long as it is legitimate and will work in my area.

Product_Or_Service: online auction gift cardsDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like a refund of $49.50 so I can be sure I am done with this company. I will accept the gas voucher provided I actually do receive it and it will work in my area.

Review: I was un knowingly charged for something I didn't purchase and zbiddy refuses to refund the charge.
On January 28th, 2014 at approx. 11:00pm I received an email from overstock stating that I could get electronics extremely cheap and way under the msrp. This peaked my interest and I clicked on the site which took me to what I guess was a sub site through them called zbiddy.com. Well it said before you can look and join the penny auctions that you needed to register and put in your billing information which I did. As soon as I put my information in it showed that I was charged a total of 99 dollars which it failed to inform me before I registered. I then immediately took action and tryed to call them which they were closed so I left a contact "tag" for them to contact me during their normal business hours. Well the next day, January 29th at approx. 3:00pm I proceeded to call them back since they had not returned anything regarding my msg left the previous night. The customer service rep that took my call failed to answer my question of how this charge was taken and what it was for and told me it was non refundable. I told her that I had not purchased anything or signed any agreement for that because the site failed to tell me they automatically deducted 99 dollars from my credit card! I do not have that kind of money to spend and I need it back. I have a family and this business is fraudulant and seek to scam people. I want a refund is all I want. I wasn't even seeking to purchase anything at that specific time if at all. I was basically just checking the site out. If you could please resolve this issue I would greatly appreciate it. I have a family and newborn to feed and support and I live paycheck to paycheck and I feel like I was taken advantage of.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a FULL refund of the 99 dollars that was taken out of my account due to the failure of zbiddy specifying that they charge 99 dollars for registering and basically scamming me.

Review: I have been using www.hotcloseouts2013.com (penny auction, now known as www.hotcloseouts2014.com) and have won items on this website. Though the website claims I would receive my winnings within 5 days, it has been over a month and I have not received all items won. I have used their online complaint forms multiple times (with no response), attempted to use their live chat option (does not work), emailed them once (also no response), and called Zbiddy (company behind the website) three times to complain and request my items; they have answered the same way saying shipping would be notified and I should receive my items in 5 days (auction says five, Zbiddy said 7 - 10 days). As stated it has been over a month and I still have not received all items won. Product_Or_Service: Gift Cards (for various businesses) Account_Number: Account is geowhat_3Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund I told them in my last phone call I want all my items received or for them to cancel any items/auctions won and to refund all my money. Since their auctions don't work properly and thus bids paid for don't work properly, I would be looking for a refund for items/purchases won, money spent on bids purchased through auctions, and the $99 charged for bids when I first signed up (complete refund for all money invested on their website (now hotcloseouts2014.com)).

Review: I one the auction for a magazine subscription. It was to be delivered in 6-8 weeks for the first magazine. I have not received it yet and it is almost 15 weeks now. I started a complaint with the company and just keep getting the run around. They say my query has been forwarded to the shipping department and the magazine company. They keep telling me to wait 3-5 business days for a response. In the 3 and half weeks I have been trying to get this straightened out I have yet to ever get a response from them. I have had at least 3 live chats with only them passing on information to the supposed right department. At this point I just want my money back so I don't have to deal with this company anymore. They have not provided me with what I paid for. They said they were a Revdex.com accredited company but I couldn't find them in the directory.Desired Settlement: I just want the money back that I have paid to win the auction and for the shipping of the undelivered product.

Review: Requested a refund on a 1st time bid package. No one has responded to multiple requests. Website says you can contact a live person, this is untrue. No phone number on website to contact a live person to rectify my issue of desiring a refund. Per service agreement "All payments for bid packages are non-refundable except for any bid amounts remaining unused on the 1st bid package purchased by a user which qualifies for the ZBIDDY GUARANTY as stated on the ZBIDDY website. The refund will be available for 7 days from the date the user purchased its 1st bid package, provided that the user requests such refund from ZBIDDY within such 7 day period." Review: I tried zbiddy for the first time with the free coins they made available to me. I easily won a $5 gift card for $.01. When I checked out to get the gift card sent to me the subtotal was the $.01 with free shipping. When I hit the submit button, it then said thank you for your purchase of bids for $79. My credit card was charged $79.01. I sent the company an email letting them know that I did not order the bids. I looked on their website and they said that they will not give refunds for bids. It also said that if you do not use your bids that you will lose them. So, when I did not hear back from the company within a couple of days I decided to go ahead and use the bids so I would not lose them. I then won a $1000 grocery coupon reward for $.37 but I had to pay for the shipping of $4.99. The terms state that when items are paid for they will be shipped within 24 hours. I won these items on August 24, 2013. I still have not received anything for either win. I have tried contacting the company and they have not answered my requests.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a full refund of all my money. I have not received anything as promised and I was charged for items I did not even order (the bids). I have paid them $84.37 and I would like the full amount refunded to me.

Review: I was playing a game on [redacted] site when the zbiddy site came up and I thought it was part of the game I was playing to choose a prize. Well I did and when I put in my information for them to send me my prize and after I sent it I was then sent an email that I was being billed 79.00 for their services. Well, I sent them several e-mails to cancel the amount and the account I inadvertently signed up for, I asked for my money to be refunded. I have never gotten a response. I am on a fixed income and would have never signed up for site like this especially one that expensive. I think it was very sneaky how they did this.Desired Settlement: I just want my 79.00 returned to my account and the account closed.

Review: My husband took my card and wanted to place two $0.60 bids. When the card was charged $99 without telling him, he called the credit card company who referred him back to the merchant. Review: I did a Google search for Cyber Monday deals and came across the website www.hotclouseouts2013.com. When you first go on the website, they show you some examples of their penny auctions and tell you to register to see what else is available on their site. I registered and entered my credit card info as required and they automatically charged my card $99 without notice. Then, when you go ahead and bid on auctions and win, they ask you to pay what you bid. I went ahead and did that and received no confirmation or anything via e-mail as stated would happen. I'm now out $111.29. They do provide a customer service number, but when you call there is a looped recording stating that 'your account is locked'. They also claim to offer live chat customer service via their website, but it does not work. I did file a complaint through their e-mail system and alerted my credit card company.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded the full $111.29. This includes the $99 registration fee and the $12.29 for their phony online auction. This business should not be allowed to operate anymore, it's a scam and a real shame.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, I would like the following items to be known.

First, I did receive an e-mail from their online support team saying that my money would be refunded. However, as of today my accounts have not been credited. Their e-mail states that it takes 5-7 days for the credits to post. If I do not receive my refund within that time, I will file an additional complaint.

Second, the Terms of Service referred to by Zbiddy can be found on their website here: http://www.hotcloseouts2013.com/terms_of_service.html. I have also attached a copy to this note. It does not state anywhere in their Terms of Service agreement that upon registration the registrant's account will be charged $99. It also does not state that anywhere on their website.

And lastly, in response to their reiteration of their customer service phone line, it does not work all the time. The number they give for customer support is 877-403-6981 and if you call that number immediately after registration, there is a looped recording that says 'your account is locked'. It's a scheme to deter people from trying to get a refund. In addition, the 'online live chat support' that their website advertises is also bogus.

Review: After winning and paying for the auction an email would state I would get such certificate or item in the mail and that's the only information I ever got the only thing I did get from them was my restaurants .com winnings certificates. Here's a list of winnings,

A 25.00 priceline card + 25 bids (already got the bids)

A 50.00 e-gift card

A 60.00 health + wellness certificate of card

A 100.00 priceline card

A mystery gift

A 3 day 2 night vacation gateway for two

And one more vacation

The only credits I've received are the restaurant.com certificates.

I thought there were more but I was hoping they had record so I didn't have to bother my credit card company plus with median sick another picture for so long and then outback I doubt they would help me so any help would be appreciated .

I don't remember if I was under Janet or my middle name Michelle Binney just so you know I want to be known that Im Janet Michelle Binney

Thanks for your help, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like what was promised of the auction they can give my money back because that's not worth value I want what's value of what's coming to me that's what they were advertising and they sold me in auction.
